“People looked at Lelystad a little suspiciously at first, but are now coming to realize that logistically it’s not a bad place at all.” Vincent Vierwind, managing director of construction company Goldbeck, sees that Lelystad’s business parks are becoming increasingly popular and that more and more companies are settling there. “In Lelystad there is still plenty of space,” he said. <\/strong><\/p>\n The construction company has already completed several new construction projects for companies in Lelystad. “Our first assignment was a building for JYSK<\/a>. Then we started work on a large distribution center<\/a> commissioned by Frasers Property Industrial<\/a> at Flevopoort business park<\/a> on the side of the A6.” <\/p>\n Currently under construction is the largest project for Goldbeck in Lelystad: a distribution center<\/a> commissioned by DHG<\/a> with a total area of nearly 160,000 square meters. And that is exactly why, according to Vierwind, Lelystad is becoming increasingly popular: “It is one of the last locations where good growth in terms of logistics can still take place.”<\/p>\n According to Vierwind, Lelystad’s business parks have many advantages. Thus, the price of land is a lot lower and it is logistically easy to access. In addition, the business parks are of good quality and there is still plenty of room to build on, Vierwind said. “And because we supply a lot from our own production, we can quickly ramp up when the market demands it.” <\/p>\n He finds that this does not go unnoticed by several entrepreneurs in his network. “What I am hearing in recent months is that there is the necessary commotion regarding business establishment in Lelystad. Surely I note that there is interest coming from different sides. There is more demand than, say, a year ago.” <\/p>\n Vierwind sees this as the result of the fact that other locations are beginning to fill up anyway. Lelystad’s image is also improving. “And the fact that there are noises left and right that the Department of Defense wants to locate at Lelystad Airport also helps,” Vierwind believes. <\/p>\n What appeals to Vierwind personally is what the business parks exude. “The premises look sleek and modern, and also there is a lot of peace and quiet.
