At Zuiderpark business park<\/a> in Lelystad, distribution center The Anchor<\/a> shows that grid congestion need not be a brake on logistics development. The 36,500-square-foot building, developed by Frasers Property Industrial<\/a>, was designed to be future-proof and largely self-sufficient distribution center, despite a limited grid connection.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whereas in many places in the Netherlands a shortage of power slows down new logistical developments, in Lelystad, on the contrary, innovative solutions were sought. The Anchor<\/a> features a smart energy system that combines large-scale solar energy, energy storage and intelligent energy management. The result: a modern distribution center that runs largely on locally generated renewable energy.<\/p>\n

Smart handling of grid congestion<\/h4>\n

By investing in an autonomous energy system with thousands of solar panels, battery storage and smart control, optimal use is made of the available grid power. This makes the building flexible and prepared for different logistics users, even in an area where additional grid capacity is not a given. <\/p>\n

The approach underlines that logistics development remains possible in Lelystad precisely through innovation and forward thinking. Companies will have the space to establish and grow here, without being completely dependent on the traditional electricity grid. <\/p>\n
